Hockey Player Mourned By Friends, Family In Newport Beach

Darren Donald Partch was killed at his home in Newport Beach in April.

NEWPORT BEACH, CA — Darren Donald Partch, 38, passed away suddenly on April 21 during a home-invasion robbery in Newport Beach.

He was last seen alive in Laguna Beach, at the Sandpiper Bar, with Wendi Sue Miller, who was found with Partch inside the Newport Apartment.

Partch was a hockey player, originally of Agoura Hills, who played minor league hockey as a forward from 1999 to 2006. He last played for the San Diego Gulls.

A memorial service was held for Partch over the weekendat Harbor Lawn-Mt. Olive Memorial Park in Costa Mesa.
