Huntington Beach Coast Reopens After Aggressive Shark Forces Closure
There were no shark sightings in the 24 hours after a shark bumped a surfer.

A one-mile stretch of Bolsa Chica State Beach reopened Monday 24 hours after an aggressive shark forced a beach closures.
As is protocol, lifeguard officials reopened the beach following a 24-hour stretch without any shark sightings in the area. Some waters in the Huntington Beach area were closed to swimmers and riders Sunday after a surfer was bumped by a shark.
The surfer reported being bumped about 8:30 a.m. near Tower 16 on the south end of Bolsa Chica State Beach, prompting the closure of beaches immediately to the north and south of where the encounter occurred, Huntington Beach Marine Safety Lt. Claude Panis said.
