Huntington Beach Oktoberfest Transformer Explosion Injures 4

A transformer explosion injured four people at the Huntington Beach Oktoberfest on Saturday night. The injuries were described as minor.

HUNTINGTON BEACH, CA — Four people were injured Saturday night at the Old World Village Oktoberfest celebration in Huntington Beach when a transformer exploded. All four injuries were considered "minor," officials say.

The Saturday night incident injured two people at the festival and two firefighters.

The Huntington Beach Fire Department says that they received a report just after 8 p.m. that there had been a transformer explosion at the Old World German Restaurant.

As Engine 42 arrived, there were several more explosions.

The cause is still being investigated.
