Newport Beach Home Burns During Boat Parade
Newport Beach boat parade onlookers got more of a show than they bargained for as this luxury home ignited into a roaring blaze.

NEWPORT BEACH, CA —While holiday revelers gathered to watch the Newport Beach Christmas boat parade, a fire raged nearby on the nearby Lido Isle, officials reported.
Onlookers from the West Lido Channel to Balboa Island got more of a show than they bargained for as the column of smoke lifted above the harbor and firefighters raced to the scene.
The blaze damaged a two-story home, but no one was injured, Newport Beach Fire Department reported. The fire began just before 7 p.m. in the 100 block of Via Dijon, a spokesperson for NBFD said.

Flames fully engulfed the second floor of the home upon the first responder's arrival. Costa Mesa and Huntington Beach Fire Departments assisted with the knockdown, which was extinguished by 7:15 p.m.
The cause remained under investigation as of Thursday morning.
