Newport Beach Celebrates The 111th Christmas Boat Parade In 2019

NEWPORT BEACH, CA — In Newport Beach, there is no better place to celebrate Christmas than from a boat or along the shores of the Newport Harbor.

Opening night is Wednesday, Dec. 18, with fireworks at 6:15 p.m. at the Newport Pier, and a 6:30 p.m. boat parade.

Christina Anstead, star of HGTV's "Christina on the Coast" and "Flip or Flop" will serve as the Grand Marshal for the event.

On Opening night, Christina will preside on the boat parade grand marshal boat, visible to parade-goers on the 14-mile route via the vessel’s deck-to-sail LED screen.

"We are thrilled to bring Christina Anstead onboard as our 2019 boat parade grand marshal. Christina is a new resident of our community and her TV show ‘Christina on the Coast’ helps to bring the beauty of Newport Beach to light and what a better way to make our parade that much brighter than with the star power that Christina brings," a spokesperson for the boat parade said.

How to watch the parade.

Viewers can watch the Newport Beach Christmas Boat Parade as it moves it way through the Newport Harbor, you can view the parade from almost any place on the shore FREE of cost.

Thousands will view the parade each evening, so visitors will need to allow extra time for travel.

"Remember to arrive as early as possible," they said. "All city parking lots will be open throughout the parade to accommodate viewers."
