Orange County SC Game Postponed Due TO COVID On Galaxy II Squad

"Better safe than sorry," OC SC says. Friday's game is rescheduled after 11 members of LA Galaxy II tested positive for coronavirus.

IRVINE, CA — Orange County's Division II soccer game vs. the LA Galaxy II team has been postponed after a coronavirus outbreak, the USL Championship announced Tuesday.

Eleven "covered persons" with LA Galaxy II had tested positive in testing conducted one week ago, prompting postponement of last Wednesday's game against San Diego Loyal SC, the league announced Thursday.

The LA Galaxy II's planned game for Friday against Orange County SC in Irvine is postponed "out of an abundance of caution."

This is also the second consecutive postponement for Orange County SC. Its game scheduled for last Wednesday against Sacramento Republic FC was postponed because of a positive COVID-19 test result from a "previous opponent."

Republic FC lost to LA Galaxy II, 1-0, July 25.

USL health and safety protocols require all covered persons to undergo weekly testing.
