Randy's Donuts Opens In Costa Mesa
The sweet confectionary opened March 9 with walk-in hours from 5:30 a.m. to 9 p.m. and a 24-hour drive-thru. Here's what you should order.

COSTA MESA, CA — In February, Costa Mesa cops lined up in front of the new Randy's Donuts sign for the Harbor Boulevard location. On Tuesday, that store opened the sweet confections to the delight of Costa Mesa's finest and residents alike.
Randy's Donuts, a chain purchased by Newport Beach native Mark Kelegian, is how that family now makes their dough. They've moved from the 750-square foot Inglewood store with the iconic doughnut-sign, and have expanded into Costa Mesa.

It's a homecoming of sorts for Kelegian. He told the Los Angeles Times in a recent article. The store is close to the family stomping grounds in Newport Beach.
"It's one of many shops planned for Orange County," the Times reported.

The head baker Ishmael Garcia is in the kitchen, overseeing quality control, and the original owners stop by from time to time, he says.
The Costa Mesa store proudly displays a smaller version of the roof-top doughnut, at 25 feet in diameter, constructed of fiberglass, the Times article reports. It weighs 15,000 pounds and is supported by interior steel beams.
The donuts inside, however, are light and fluffy by comparison.
