Reef Point Drive In Newport Beach Partially Reopens​ After Fire

Intermittent closures will continue throughout the morning, Newport Beach police said.

NEWPORT BEACH, CA – Reef Point Drive in Newport Beach partially reopened on Thursday after a construction fire led to the roadway temporarily closing to traffic.

In a news release Thursday morning, Newport Police announced the roadway had closed between Archipelago Drive and Shore Walk while crews worked to extinguish the fire and clean up the resulting damage.

"The road will be closed for several hours for cleanup," the notice read.

Police announced just before 10 a.m. that one lane had been reopened to traffic.

"However, due to continued cleanup of the area, the street will continue to close intermittently," police said.
