Remarkable Businesswomen Nominees Lauded In Orange County

Winners will be awarded on March 10 at the Remarkable Women Awards reception, commemorating women's suffrage & women making history today.

NEWPORT BEACH, CA — The National Association of Women Business Owners, Orange County Chapter announced their slate of nominees for the Annual Remarkable Women Awards. The winner of the Lifetime Achievement Award, Rachel Owens of TriCircle Financial Strategies, was also announced.

March celebrates Women’s History Month, so it is no surprise the group chose that month to host their awards ceremony.

"This is one of Orange County’s premier events highlighting women business owners’ achievements," a spokesperson for the event said.. It will be held from 1 to 3 p.m. at Féte the Venue, 3101 Red Hill Ave., Costa Mesa. Tickets can be purchased at www.nawbooc.biz/remarkable-women ($150 for general admission, table sponsorships starting at $1,250). All proceeds from the event directly fund programs that support and strengthen women's entrepreneurship in Orange County.

The event will highlight milestones of economic opportunity for women while celebrating the women entrepreneurs who are making history today, in commemoration of the centennial of women’s suffrage.

“(The association) continues to embody the spirit of the movement; empowering women entrepreneurs to pursue greater economic, social, and political freedom and influence,” says President Katie Adams Farrell, founder, principal and CFO of Kerredyn Collaborative.

The event will be hosted by Scharrell Jackson, 2017 recipient of the Woman Entrepreneur to Watch Award. Scharrell, founder of Orange County’s Leadership in Heels event series, is a popular speaker, as well as partner and chief operations and financial officer at Squar Milner. Leadership Heels will host its next event on March 13 about Intentional Leadership.

Rachel Owens, Lifetime Achievement Award winner, has worked tirelessly on behalf of women business owners, the group says.

As co-founder of TriCircle Financial Strategies, she is devoted to helping women grow their businesses and pass them on to the next generation. A founding member and past president of the association, she was also founding sponsor of California State University Fullerton’s Family Business Council, now known as the Center for Family Business. Rachel dedicates countless hours to mentoring and supporting women entrepreneurs, especially by guiding them through the certification process.Along with Lifetime Achievement, the awards are Woman Business Owner of the Year, Entrepreneur to Watch, and Business Advocate of the Year. Winners will be announced at the event.

Additionally, the association will recognize the accomplishments of Four Attorneys under 40, a new category with Special Recognition.
