NEWPORT BEACH CA — Orange County's landmark A Restaurant is reopening Thursday with outdoor dining under a new, spacious tent at its Newport Beach West Coast Highway locale.

On the menu will be wine and seasonal cocktails, along with the eatery's upscale classics and contemporary cuisine, courtesy of newly appointed Corporate Executive Chef Alfonso Ramirez and Chef de Cuisine Roberto Gomez.

The distinctive "old Arches" property dates to 1925 when it began as a restaurant and service station in the early Coast Highway era. Over the years, A Restaurant has morphed from a roadside diner to steak-and-seafood, celebrity hotspot to a French cuisine menu to today's version with fine dining and chef-curated comfort food.
