Car Drives Off 55 Transition To Westbound 22, Hauled Back To Road
The 55 transition to 22 was closed midday Monday as crews retrieved a vehicle that veered over the side, backing up traffic for miles.
TUSTIN, CA — A Monday morning crash shutdown the 55 Northbound transition the Westbound 22 toward Garden Grove, officials say.
At 10:30 a.m., two cars swerved to avoid an object in lanes, and one vehicle crashed through a guardrail and slid down the embankment at the 22 Freeway transition, California Highway Patrol told Patch.
CHP called for a sigalert to stop traffic, allowing a tow truck time and room to winch the car back onto the roadway.

A hard closure was expected to remain in place until at least noon.
Drivers were asked to avoid the area until after 12:30 p.m. due to the crash and subsequent cleanup.

As of this report, no one was injured during the crash, according to CHP.
