SigAlert: High Speed Aston Martin Crash Shuts Down Route 73
The hit and run crash involved at least two high-end sports cars.
NEWPORT BEACH, CA — The California Highway Patrol issued a SigAlert for Route 73 Saturday following a hit and run crash that appeared to involve high-end sports cars racing at high speeds, according to the CHP.
According to the CHP, the crash happened just before 3:30 p.m on the southbound side of the freeway just north of Newport Coast Boulevard, and it involved at least two vehicles. The CHP identified a BMW and an Aston Martin involved in the incident. At least one vehicle fled the scene.
The crash shutdown the number 1, 2, and 3 lanes.
