Slater's Gold-Dust Burger Shows Some That Glitter Is Delicious

ORANGE COUNTY, CA — Yes, Virginia, there is a holiday burger with a 24-karat, gold-dusted bun.

Spreading seasonal spirit, glitz and glamour, Slater's 50/50 restaurants in Anaheim Hills and Huntington Beach are serving up a most-festive burger, decked out with a 24-karat, gold-dusted brioche bun - an edible glam-slam on its limited-time, "Ugly Sweater Christmas" menu.

Likely Ebenezer Scrooge-approved, the "NYE Ball Drop 24 Karat Burger" is made with a half-pound of Wagyu beef, topped with 24-karat gold-dusted bacon, truffle cheese, arugula and bacon jam, on the 24-karat gold-dusted bun.

The glittery burger first was launched by the chain at its Las Vegas locale as an homage to flashy Sin City, according to management. Due to the burger's popularity there, Slater's 50/50 decided to roll it out for this year's holidays at certain locations in Southern California, including in Anaheim Hills, Huntington Beach, San Diego and Rancho Cucamonga.

Also on the restaurant's holiday menu are "Mrs. Claus’ Butternut Squash Soup 'Shooters,'” "Christmas Tree Fondue," "Santa’s Reindeer Sliders," and Slater’s "Holiday Slider Flight," featuring miniature versions of the signature Best Damn Bacon Cheeseburger, plant-based Impossible Meatball burger, and sweet-and-savory PB & Jellousy burger.

From Slater's 50/50 bar, patrons can enjoy one of seven new holiday-inspired cocktails, like "Santa’s Adult Milk & Cookies," "Naughty or Spiced" and the "Rum Pom Pom Pom."

Crafted by James Bailey, culinary director for Slater's parent company Elite Restaurant Group, the holiday menu is offered through Dec. 31 for in-house dining and private events.
