Teachers and Kids Life and Death
The district will say that teachers were involved. They weren't. Not only were teachers not involved;they weren't even informed!
Everyone wants schools open. Let me repeat…everyone wants schools open.
Who has the most to be worried? Who is the most at risk as well as students? Who has asked these questions over and over to NMUSD to ….crickets ? TEACHERS!
In Newport Mesa Unified School District teachers should have been and should now be involved and included and respected! After all they are the people who are going to walk into that classroom the first day. They are the people who know intimately what should be in that classroom, what they need to protect the kids and themselves.

The district will say that teachers were involved. They weren’t. Not only were teachers not involved in the planning, they weren’t even informed until the last few days.

No, but I understand. This is a long list and if you are not a teacher or employee of the district it’s not high on your list of Coved-19 concerns, BUT for teachers and students it’s a matter of life and death….yes death.
This district has had months to work this out…it’s outrageous that it hasn’t been done and has barely been started.
NMUSD ....
1. Tell the truth
2. Do the work that the taxpayers pay you for
3. Truly...truly care about the kids and all your employees.
4. Grow up! This is serious and it takes serious people who need to stop patting themselves on the back, sit down and get it done!
Hey District! Here's the best thing.....you don't have to do this by yourselves. There are teachers out there in our district that will literally do anything to make this work. They will buy things with their own money. They will work long hours that are well beyond their normal hours. AND if you need someone to figure all this out...put five teachers in a room and it will be done to perfection in two days.
The teachers of this district have asked for the following to make it as safe as it can be for the kids and themselves:
