Traffic Alert: Unstable Traffic Light Leads To Ford Road Closure

NEWPORT BEACH, CA — Drivers were forewarned Wednesday to avoid Ford Road at Southern Hills Drive.

Eastbound Ford Road was closed at 11 a.m. due to the replacement of an unstable traffic signal. The road was expected to be closed for "several hours" during the repair and replacement.

Seek alternate routes during the replacement, until further notice, the city of Newport Beach suggested. As of this report, it was not known why the traffic signal became unstable. Patch will update this report when that information becomes available.
