Watch 'The Meg' From Newport Dunes Waterfront If You Dare

NEWPORT BEACH, CA — Newport Dunes Waterfront Resort would like to report something in the water. You.

The resort is presenting their outdoor movie event of the summer on Saturday, September 21. From 6–10 p.m, bring your favorite inflatable and an extra helping of courage as you experience the last Movie on the Bay of 2019, featuring the 2018 science fiction action film, "The Meg."

Based on the 1997 book, Meg: A Novel of Deep Terror by Steve Alten, the film follows a group of scientists who encounter a 75-foot-long megalodon shark while on a rescue mission at the floor of the Pacific Ocean.

The magical event invites the entire family to watch the special screening on the open water, floating in the waterfront resort’s secluded, waveless bay, or on the sand. The evening’s festivities begin at 6 p.m. with food trucks, games, beach bars and entertainment. Guests are welcome to bring their own inflatable or purchase one from Newport Dunes.

Don't want to lose all your hot air? No problem. Air compressors will be available onsite.

Be aware, ice chests, picnic baskets and any outside food and beverages will not be permitted.

Prizes will be awarded to the attendees with the most creative inflatable and largest inflatable.

Prizes include complimentary tastings at Newport Dunes’ waterfront restaurant, Back Bay Bistro, concert tickets, or a night stay in one of Newport Dunes' cozy beachfront cottages.
