America’s youngest female yoga teacher at Camp Helping Hands
Natalie Asatryan, America's youngest certified female yoga instructor, shares her love for yoga with children at Camp Helping Hands.
NORTHRIDGE, Calif. – America's youngest certified female yoga instructor, 13-year-old Natalie Asatryan, taught yoga to the youth at Camp Helping Hands on Monday, July 30 in Northridge, California. A nonprofit dedicated to getting children involved in their community through service-learning projects and field trips, Camp Helping Hands invited Asatryan to be part of the week themed “Serving Ourselves to Serve Others” that was inspired by a quote from Mahatma Ghandi, “The best way to find yourself, is to lose yourself in the service of others.”
Aligning with Camp Helping Hands’ mission of getting children involved with service-learning so they can “make a difference in their community where it is needed most,” Asatryan shared how teaching yoga has enabled her to give back and taught two uplifting, fun yoga classes.
“Teaching yoga at Camp Helping Hands reminded me of when I was 5 years old and took my first yoga class,” said Asatryan. “Teaching the kids enabled me to pay it forward and encourage others to develop a passion for yoga too.”
