Attic Fire Extinguished In Granada Hills

Firefighters put out Granada Hills' second house fire of the week Friday morning.

GRANADA HILLS, CA — The LAFD extinguished what it called a “particularly stubborn fire” at the rear and attic of a 1,600 square-foot, one-story home on the 17400 block of W. Hiawatha Street in Granada Hills.

The fire was reported at 11:49 a.m., and 42 firefighters were able to extinguish it in 34 minutes, according to the LAFD.

No injuries were reported. The cause remains under investigation.

On Monday, an explosion from a barbecue propane tank caused an attic fire about a half-mile away on Kingsbury Street in Granada Hills. No injuries were reported.
