CSUN Announces Fall 2020 Reopening Plans
After months of speculation, CSUN has now announced the state of in-person classes for the semester of Fall 2020.

The coronavirus pandemic has sparked an unprecedented global event, prompting many school closures. After Spring Break of 2020, many university students were instructed to not come back to class, with classes suddenly being converted to online courses. Many CSUN students have been in a state of limbo, not knowing exactly whether they should be prepared for in-person classes to be conducted Fall of 2020. After months of speculation, CSUN has now announced the state of in-person classes for the semester of Fall 2020.
With this initiative, it was announced that half of classes will be offered in-person. A few courses will be granted in-person classes, with labs being offered in-person. In addition to class capacity being lowered, on campus housing capacity will be reduced by a little more than half, with rooms being adjusted to adhere to social distancing guidelines. Dining halls will be also be closed.
While reducing on-campus housing capacity is certainly an inconvenience, fortunately, there are many off-campus housing options near CSUN. NMS Superior is particularly close to CSUN. The community offers furnished and traditional floor plans, ranging from co-living, to studio, to two-bedroom apartments. Each apartment is embellished with contemporary stone counters, hardwood-style floors, and stainless-steel appliances.
