Deadly Crash In Castaic Canyons Saturday

One person has died, and a second is hospitalized.

SANTA CLARITA, CA - One person died and a second was injured Saturday when an SUV hit a tree in the Castaic Canyons area near Santa Clarita.

The crash was reported at 3:57 p.m. on Bouquet Canyon Road, according to the California Highway Patrol. Los Angeles County firefighters said the cross street was Texas Canyon Road.

One person was pronounced dead when paramedics arrived and firefighters had to use hydraulic tools to free the injured person, fire officials said.

The vehicle was described as a black Chevrolet Blazer and it appeared the driver was the injured person taken by ground ambulance to a trauma center, according to the CHP.
