Finney's Crafthouse Opens In Porter Ranch

PORTER RANCH, CA — Beer, burgers, and mini ahi poke tacos: what more do you need in life?

Finney’s Crafthouse, a gastropub offering a diverse selection of local beers, pizzas, cocktails, tacos, sandwiches, salads, and more, opened its first LA County location at the Vineyards in Porter Ranch Monday.

West Valley residents seem to like what they see. Founder and namesake Greg Finefrock told Patch that customers can expect 60-90 minute waits at the restaurant, which is currently operating at 50% capacity - about 75 customers at a time.

“The response from the community has been amazing - we’re very encouraged,” Finefrock said.

The Porter Ranch was built in May 2020, but had to remain closed for nearly a year. Finefrock said that he had to lay off all of his original staff, and hire 70 new employees in 2021.

“It was about a two-and-a-half-year journey from signing the lease,” he said. But now that the journey is over, guests can enjoy a diverse menu of fresh, locally grown food and drinks (Finefrock estimates that 80-90 percent of the beers comes from LA, Ventura, or Santa Barbara counties), indoor and outdoor seating, Finefrock’s hand-selected playlist of 5,000 classic rock songs, and ten TVs showing different sports games.

“We appeal to such a wide demographic because everyone’s welcome,” Finefrock said. “If you look around the dining room at any given time, you see families with young kids, ladies having a salad or white wine lunch, to the beer drinking crowd - we’re inclusive to all.”

Finefrock opened the first location in Westlake Village in 2016, and expanded to Santa Barbara, Ventura, San Luis Obispo, and now Porter Ranch. He plans to open new locations in Burbank in June, Old Town Orange at the end of this year, and in Camarillo early next year.
