Photos: CHA Remembrance Assembly Honors Our Local Heroes

Students hail courage, selflessness, and dedication to the community.

Students at gathered Friday to honor first responders for their courage, selflessness, and dedication to the community. 

At the annual Remembrance Assembly, students presented paper stars with wishes and messages of thanks to local law enforcement and fire department representatives.  

The stars were assembled into an honoring quilt, and then presented to the first responders by fourth grade students.

"We don’t have to look any further than the firefighters, police officers, paramedics, and others to find real life examples of what it means to be a hero,” said Ann Gillinger, head of school. 

Four years ago, lives were saved as the first responders utilized the Chatsworth Hills Academy sports fields for medical triage and a staging area following Metrolink train crash.  And the students also recognized and remembered the first responders and heroes of September 11, 2001.
