Gunman Prompts Street Closures In West Valley Neighborhood
Police arrested a man seen wandering a residential neighborhood in Reseda with a gun in his hand.
RESEDA, CA — An armed standoff in Reseda came to a peaceful end Wednesday afternoon with one suspect in custody.
Police shut down a neighborhood in Reseda Wednesday morning when a gunman was spotted walking through a residential neighborhood Wednesday morning. Officers worked for hours to get the man to surrender. By 2:45 p.m., he had been taken into police custody, said Los Angeles Police Department spokesman Officer William Cooper.
According to Los Angeles Police Officer Jeffrey Lee, police set up a perimeter around the area of the 7500 block of Tampa Avenue in Reseda, and officers spent more than two hours trying to bring the man into custody.

"He's just been walking with an unknown type firearm in his hand," Lee said Wednesday morning. "We are trying to bring this situation to a peaceful ending."
Authorities received a report of a man with a gun at 9:55 a.m., and police blocked off Tampa Avenue and Strathern Street. Residents were advised to avoid the area or shelter in place. The investigation was ongoing as of 3 p.m.

No one was injured in the incident.
