A heat advisory is in effect Monday until 9 p.m. throughout the San Fernando Valley, with temperatures in the mid 90s to 105 degrees.

NORTHRIDGE,CA – A heat advisory is in effect Monday until 9 p.m. throughout the San Fernando Valley, with temperatures in the mid 90s to 105 degrees.

The National Weather Service warns hot temperatures may cause heat illnesses.

Residents are advised to drink plenty of fluids, stay in an air-conditioned room when possible, stay out of the sun and check on relatives and neighbors.

The heat advisory affects Northridge, Woodland Hills, Burbank and Universal City.
