Hometown Carnival For A Cause Saturday At Chatsworth Lake Church

Beautiful CHATSWORTH LAKE CHURCH is the site of a hometown, family style CARNIVAL this Saturday, October 20 from 10-4!

Proceeds from the carnival will be used to help send qualified local students and their families to the NATIONAL BIBLE BEE in San Antonio Texas.

What is the National Bible Bee? Think spelling bee, but for studying and memorizing Bible passages. Each summer thousands of students across the country learn, study, and memorize scripture and then take a test. The top 120 scoring students in each of three age divisions are invited to compete on a higher level by memorizing hundreds of passages of scripture and compete on stage while being televised.

Chatsworth resident Moriah Turner qualified along with 10 other local students! They are a very competitive bunch! To compete in the nationals the primary students, ages 7-11, are required to memorize over 600 Bible verses in three months and study Philippians, this year's selection!

Crystal Turner, Moriah’s mom, (pictured right with some of the Turner clan) is the organizer of this Saturday’s Carnival featuring arts and crafts, music, games, prizes, food trucks, raffles, a bake sale, local businesses, animals, a bounce house, mini karate classes, and more! The students will be singing on stage throughout the day. 1980s UK musician Robin Hill, from Scarlet Black, will be performing mid day.

This is sure to be a fun event and for such a worthwhile cause! Meet the kids, enjoy the festivities, and consider making a donation. Admission is free. There’s plenty of parking for your car or horse. We are in Chatsworth after all!
