'Jeopardy!' Donates $250,000 To Northridge Center
The popular show matched its Tournament of Champions prize and donated $250,000 to the Alex Trebek Center in Northridge.

NORTHRIDGE, CA — “Jeopardy!” made good on its promise to donate $250,000 to the Alex Trebek Center, a Northridge bridge shelter under construction at the former site of Skateland.
The show matched the $250,000 grand prize won during its Tournament of Champions, and donated it to the 23,000-square foot interim housing facility, run by Pacoima-based homeless nonprofit Hope of the Valley. The shelter will contain 107 beds and provide a variety of social services for its 300 residents. It is named after the former Jeopardy host, who donated $500,000 to the center before he died.
“Hope of the Valley is humbled and honored to be the charity recipient of this year's Jeopardy! Tournament of Champions,” said Hope of the Valley CEO Ken Craft. “All funds will be invested into the Trebek Center, a 107-bed Bridge Housing facility in Northridge which will continue Alex Trebek's legacy here in Los Angeles.”
