Letter: Shop at All the New Places on Reseda Boulevard
Some of the businesses and restaurants on the boulevard will be offering special discounts from Nov. 24 through Dec. 24.

Editor,
Small Business Saturday is right around the corner. We are promoting some great new businesses on the boulevard for one month! We have many new businesses you may not know about. Some of the businesses and restaurants on the boulevard will be offering special discounts from Nov. 24 through Dec. 24.
Please print out the attached flyer or send it to friends and neighbors to encourage them to shop locally!! If you shop local during the above dates and save receipts, you can enter into a raffle to win gift certificates to participating Northridge Village businesses. The raffle will be held in January at our Northridge South Neighborhood Council meeting.

Also attached is a list of many businesses on Reseda Boulevard in Northridge Village. Here are some great restaurants:
Sun Bar & Japanese Cuisine – All the friends I’ve brought here have made this their new Japanese Restaurant. Food is great, service good, price reasonable, and now serving beer and wine!

Lum-Ka-Naad Northern & Southern Thai – Word has spread to other cities and people are coming from Simi Valley, Woodland Hills, Encino…all over to eat here. The owner is super supportive of Northridge Sparkle Campaign and involves himself in the entire community. Also has a full bar. New bench in front is a nice place to sit and relax if waiting to meet a friend!
Dickey’s Barbecue Pit – New restaurant, great décor inside, food and service are terrific. Go in and say hello, tell them you are part of the Northridge Sparkle.
Wing•Stop Restaurant – New restaurant. Haven’t been in yet myself, but saw a long line of young folks, so it must be good. Try them, you’ll like them!
Joyce’s Coffee Shop – Old standard coffee shop with special breakfast prices. Been around since 60s, and not much has changed in the inside. Owner is Rudy and he is totally committed to helping in the community. Let’s stop in and help him!
IHOP Restaurant – You can’t go wrong if you love pancakes – they have every imaginable kind. Great menu for lunch and dinner as well. Sometimes we forget it’s there!Â
Here are some great new businesses you should try:
JR Gallery – This is a gem we don’t want to lose. All prices have been reduced, plus tell JR you received an e-mail from Northridge Sparkle and you’ll receive an extra discount. Store has rugs, art, furniture and antiques and the prices are reduced while he is trying to get started. A must try! Bring a friend. Holidays are coming! Shop here!
Thrift Shop – Mike is the owner. He’ll work with customers to make them happy! There’s so much in his store, there has to be something you’ll find that you’ll love. I found a silver platter and it only cost $10. It’s beautiful. You have to have an eye for finding things, but you can find a treasure here.
Orphaned CDs – Love music? Stores like these are only found in small towns. This is a great place to buy or sell records. Find an old vinyl masterpiece, or great CD you’ve been searching for forever at great prices!
Young Skin Care – New business!! Lovely owner who wants to partake in making this a better community. Go in and spoil yourself! Tell her you’re part of Northridge Sparkle for discounts.
Studio Dyad Salon – Much more than just a good haircut. Go in and say hello. They are an integral part of this community’s efforts!
Standard Barbershop – New! They already have a waiting list. It’s like walking into Mayberry. Sit down, relax, get a haircut and enjoy a relaxing day! Try them, you’ll like them!
Cash Point – New! Buy and sell items here. Haven’t bought anything here yet, but went in and looked around. Sort of like a Pawn Shop. Some great tools!
When thinking of gifts for the holiday season, please think local first. Go in and check out some of our businesses on Reseda Boulevard. Some have been on the boulevard for a very long time. Let’s keep it that way.Â
Please go in and don’t forget to save your receipts for a raffle in January. Your feedback is very important, so let me know the pros and cons, so we can give feedback to mangers and businesses owners and keep our engine going.
Thank you!
