Magnitude 3.5 Earthquake Shakes Parts Of Los Angeles County
Did YOU feel the early morning earthquake?
CASTAIC, CA — A moderate earthquake shook parts of Los Angeles County early Friday morning, the U.S. Geological Survey reports. The quake was initially reported as a 3.7 magnitude, but then quickly downgraded to a 3.5, data showed.
The temblor struck at 5:42 a.m. local time and was centered about 10 miles below the earth's surface. An automatically-generated U.S.G.S. report indicated it was located:
- 1.5 mi SSE of Castaic
- 5.1 mi SE of Valencia
- 9.6 mi SE of Santa Clarita
- 17.4 mi SSW of Simi Valley
- 25.9 mi SSW of Thousand Oaks
- 37.5 mi WSW Ventura
There were no immediate reports of damage or injuries.
