The I-15 northbound has re-opened after over 20 vehicles were involved in a pile-up crash at the intersection of the 15 and the 138.

CAJON JUNCTION, CA — Lanes have reopened on the northbound I-15 and the 138 near the Cajon Pass after a multi-vehicle pileup early Friday morning.

Sergeant Spencer Badal of the California Highway Patrol Inland Division said that the pileup took place just after 6 a.m. at the 4000-foot level of the northbound I-15, just south of Oak Hill, when a driver stopped suddenly because the sun was in their eyes.

Badal said the pile-up resulted in numerous injuries, but no fatalities. The Victor Valley News reported that eight people were treated for non-life threatening injuries. A SIG-Alert was issued, and all lanes except for the five-lane were closed from 6:40 a.m., while CHP and San Bernardino County Fire crews helped assist victims and clean the scene.
