Two men believed to be brothers got into an argument that escalated into a fight that ended when one man ran over the other with a vehicle, fatally injuring him, and took off, police said today.

Authorities were called to the 16900 block of Napa Street around 9 p.m. Sunday, said Los Angeles police Officer Norma Eisenman.

Derrick Robinson, 35, died at a hospital, according to the coroner’s office. His home town was not known. The suspect, a 43-year-old man whose name was withheld, remained at large this morning, Eisenman said.

An argument between two men believed to be brothers escalated into a fight and one brother ran over the other with a vehicle and killed him, police said today.

The incident was reported in the 16900 block of Napa Street at Balboa Boulevard around 9 p.m. Sunday, said Officer Norma Eisenman of the Los Angeles Police Department’s Media Relations unit. The victim, whose age was estimated at 35, was taken to a hospital where he was pronounced dead. The suspect, a 43-year-old man, fled the scene and remained at large, Eisenman said.

A white SUV was found abandoned in a shopping center parking lot nearby on Balboa Boulevard, a news videographer reported from the scene.
