Nine Valley schools want to become charter campuses, the Daily News is reporting.
Three high schools and six elementary schools are on the list.
They seek to become affiliated charters. That designation enables them to receive services from the Los Angeles School District, yet gain control over their budgets, curriculum and scheduling.

- Calvert, Northridge
- Calahan, Northridge
- Chandler, Sherman Oaks
- Darby, Northridge
- Emelita, Encino
- Granada, Granada Hills
