Ride With Pride Relocates to Stoney Point Ranch in Chatsworth

New management at Browns Canyon Ranch informed Ride with Pride that they are no longer interested in having the program operate there.

Patch received the following email from Ride With Pride on Tuesday morning:

I am writing to let you know about some changes at Ride with Pride. Last week, Ride with Pride left Browns Canyon Ranch. For some time, Ride with Pride's Board of Directors have been concerned about the uncertain future of Browns Canyon Ranch. During the past three months, the property has been advertised for auction, in addition to being the subject of a protracted litigation. Several weeks ago, the new management at Browns Canyon Ranch informed Ride with Pride that they are no longer interested in having Ride with Pride's successful program serving our community's disabled family members, friends and neighbors, and returning war veterans at their ranch! The letter we received read, in part, "Please be advised that, after careful consideration, we are no longer interested in allowing you to board your horses at our facility."

The Board of Directors believes it is important that Ride with Pride operate in an environment that is welcoming, safe and secure. I am pleased to let you know that the management of Stoney Point Ranch has welcomed Ride with Pride on a temporary basis to their wonderful ranch! Thanks to the thoughtfulness and generosity of our friends at Stoney Point Ranch, during the months of April and May, Ride with Pride will continue to give therapeutic lessons to our disabled riders and Equine Facilitated Psychotherapy to our returning war veterans.

We are currently looking at a number of options for a new location for Ride with Pride. We anticipate moving into a new home in the late May/early June time frame.

In spite of an uncertain situation over the past few months, Ride with Pride has expanded both our client and volunteer base, hired a new program director, and continue to see the high demand for our successful Equine Assisted Psychotherapy program! Our programs continue to grow and be successful in spite of adversity!

While moving our horses and programs has been a challenge, our dedicated staff and volunteers rose to the occasion! Ride with Pride will be returning to our regular lesson schedule on Tuesday, April 2, 2013, after our previously planned spring break!

Ride with Pride is pleased to be enjoying Stoney Point Ranch's hospitality. Stoney Point Ranch, located at 10861 Andora Avenue in Chatsworth, will again be hosting the Day of the Horse event on Sunday, April 14, 2013 from 11:00 a.m. - 3:00 p.m. We hope you will be able to bring your entire family and share a day of fun! Please stop by and say "hello" to us at Ride with Pride while you are there!
