Northridge welcomed a brand new Smart & Final Extra! store to the neighborhood on Wednesday, while Chatsworth got a new chicken restaurant.
Located at 18555 Devonshire St., the new grocery store takes over an Albertsons store that closed in 2012.
Located at 18555 Devonshire St., the added "extra" in its name means more choices for customers than the typical Smart & Final store.
"Smart & Final Extra! stores are much larger than a typical Smart & Final warehouse store and full of extra features," according to the company's website. "The stores carry a greatly expanded selection of products in key categories like produce, fresh meat, frozen foods, dairy, deli and grocery basics like cereal, yogurt, bread and snacks."
In Chatsworth, Cicek's Chicken took over a spot behind left by Sevan Chicken. The eatery, located at 10347 Mason Ave., offers plenty of Mediterranean fare like shawerma and falafel plates. Click here to check out their website and menu.
