Triple-Digit Heat Wave Scorches Northridge-Chatsworth

Temperatures are expected to reach 102 mid-Wednesday.

NORTHRIDGE-CHATSWORTH, CA — As political demonstrations heat up all over the Southland — including in Northridge on Tuesday — actual temperatures are heating up as well.

Northridge and Chatsworth will both reach highs of 101 Wednesday afternoon, according to the National Weather Service. Despite the scorching temperatures, the National Weather Service has not issued any heat advisory as of 10:30 Wednesday.

The temperature will cool down Wednesday night, reaching 64 in Northridge and Chatsworth, but will climb back up on Thursday, reaching highs in the low 90s. Temperatures are expected cool down Friday, and remain in the upper 70s and lower 80s throughout the weekend.

Today: Mostly sunny and hot, with a high near 101. Light and variable wind becoming south southeast 5 to 10 mph in the afternoon.

Tonight: Mostly clear, with a low around 64. South southeast wind 5 to 10 mph becoming light and variable in the evening. Winds could gust as high as 15 mph.

Thursday: Sunny, with a high near 92. Light southeast wind becoming east southeast 5 to 10 mph in the afternoon.

Thursday Night: Patchy fog after 11 pm. Otherwise, increasing clouds, with a low around 62. East southeast wind 5 to 10 mph becoming south after midnight.

Friday: Patchy fog before 11 am. Otherwise, partly sunny, with a high near 81. South southeast wind as high as 15 mph.

Friday Night: Mostly cloudy, with a low around 58.
