Friday is the last day to apply to run in the Chatsworth Neighborhood Council race, while Tuesday marks the deadline for many nearby races.

CHATSWORTH, CA — Friday marks the deadline to file paperwork to run for the Chatsworth Neighborhood Council, the neighborhood's official decision-making body and representation to the Los Angeles City Council. 11 out of the 21 seats on the Council are open. Terms are two years.
Applicants must be over the age of 18, and either live, own property, board a horse, own or work at a business within official neighborhood boundaries, which are roughly defined as Nordhoff Street to 118 Freeway between Ventura County line and Corbin Avenue. This map from the Los Angeles Department of Neighborhood Empowerment gives the Chatsworth neighborhood's precise boundaries. Applicants can also be "community interest stakeholders," a broad definition for someone who actively participates in community life through educational, nonprofit, and/or religious organizations.
To apply, email this form to vote@chatsworthcouncil.org by 11:59 p.m. Friday. Applicants must also provide photo ID, documentation supporting that they are eligible to run, a passport-style head and shoulders shot, and a biographical campaign statement of up to 250 words. Call (818) 564-6819 for any questions.
