Woman Steals LAFD Ambulance In North Hills, Then Crashes It

A woman allegedly hopped into an ambulance early Friday morning as emergency crews responded to a 911 call.

NORTH HILLS, CA — A woman is accused of stealing an LAFD ambulance before slamming into a pole early Friday morning.

Emergency crews were responding to a 911 call at 3:25 a.m. near the intersection of Parthenia Street and Columbus Avenue in North Hills. Police say a woman got into the ambulance at the scene and drove away.

She only made it about three blocks before crashing into a pole. After crashing, she fled on foot, and is still at large.

The crash caused some damage to the ambulance, including slashed tires, but no injuries were reported.
