Buccaneer Park Getting A Make-over. Oceanside Wants Your Opinion

The City of Oceanside seeks public input for the Buccaneer Park Re-Visioning project. In-Person Workshops on July 10 & July 22.

OCEANSIDE, CA — While most tourists spend their time at the Downtown or Harbor beaches, the Buccaneer Park and Beach are a favorite among Oceanside locals. Now the park is about to get a make-over and the City wants to know what you think about it.

The Buccaneer Park project will provide a framework and vision for the future improvement of Buccaneer Park with a special emphasis on the aged park restrooms and park interaction with the surrounding Coastal Rail Trail and Loma Alta Slough restoration projects. The project will begin with a thorough analysis of existing park conditions and continue to provide conceptual design for the entire park’s future configuration. Full construction documents will be prepared for a new restroom to replace the old restroom facilities.

A holistic design approach that smoothly integrates the Coastal Rail Trail, Loma Alta Slough restoration, and La Salina WasteWater Treatment Plant Decommissioning with Buccaneer Park has been identified by the City as a key objective of the project. The City is committed to actively engaging the community to solicit feedback and input throughout the life of the project with a series of public workshops, surveys, online maps, and stakeholder meetings.
