Camp Pendleton Recognizes Middle School for Afghanistan Humanitarian Efforts

in San Juan Capistrano received recognition from Marine Maj. Gen. Melvin Spiese on Thursday for its contribution to the nonprofit group Spirit of America's Afghan Children's School Project.
Spiese, deputy commanding general of the I Marine Expeditionary Force based at Camp Pendleton, presented a trophy to PTA President Bonnie Small for the school's efforts in collecting more than 200 supplies for Afghan schools earlier in the month.
Marco Forster raised the most supplies in a districtwide contest which yielded more than 4,000 supplies for the project.
