OCEANSIDE, CA — It's National Pet Day and this year that has greater meaning than any recent year in memory. Animal adoptions surged during the pandemic and many shelters ran out of pets to adopt.
Time magazine even declared Rescue Animals Are TIME's 2020 Pet of the Year

Regular walking or playing with pets can decrease blood pressure, cholesterol levels, and triglyceride levels. Pets can help manage loneliness and depression by giving us companionship. Most households in the United States have at least one pet.

Pets are also good for the economy as the U.S. Census Bureau stats from the 2019 American Community Survey estimated full-time, year-round, civilian employed veterinarians at 71,009, assistants 36,286, and animal trainers 34,038.
