Celebrate Oceanside's Solar Project this Wednesday

The City of Oceanside is holding a public Solar Celebration to launch the new solar power project.

OCEANSIDE, CA- The City of Oceanside invites the community to a Solar Celebration, Wednesday, March 23 at 2:00 p.m. at Fire House #7, 3350 Mission Ave, Oceanside, in order to educate the public on solar power project.

Speakers include:

  • Cari Dale, Water Utilities Director, City of Oceanside
  • Jim Wood, Mayor, City of Oceanside
  • Michael Beverly, PFMG Solar

  • Approximately 840 kW DC solar generation project at 5 City
  • Facilities (Police Headquarters, Fire Station 7, City Operations
  • Center, Melba Bishop Recreation Center and El Corazon
  • Senior Center)
  • The solar power project will help the City save an estimated
  • $8 Million over 25 years
  • Total estimated 25 year solar energy production is over
  • 1,450,295 kWh, which is equivalent to:
  • Reducing 478 tons of carbon dioxide emissions annually
  • Planting approximately 725 trees
  • Taking 85 cars off the road for an entire year
  • Providing electricity use for over 163 homes for entire year
