On Tuesday, October 1st in a National League Wild Card 1 game playoff formerWest Hills product Steve Strasburg came in relief for the Washington Nationals as he pitched 3 innings gave up 2 hits, 4 strikeouts as they defeated the Milwaukee Brewers by a 4-3 score. The Nationals will take on the Dodgers in game 1 at Dodger Stadium on Thursday October 3rd.

Junior College Soccer: On Tuesday, October 1st, the Lady Griffins of Grossmont College defeated behind the 3 goal performance Carly Reese, 1 each by Merari Chavez, Cassandra Ekwegwo and Valeria Borroz defeated Cuyamaca by a 6-0 score. With the win the Griffins improve to 4-3-1 and will be at Southwestern College on Friday, October 4th.

Thursday, October 3rd 2019 NFL Former Mount Miguel alum Corey Littleton recorded 7 tackles for the Los Angeles Rams as they were defeated by the Seattle Seahawks 30-29.

Friday, October 4th, 2019-In Game 2 of the National League Playoffs West Hills and San Diego State product Steven Strasburg pitched 6 innings gave up 3 hits, gave up 1 run (1) earned, 0 walks and 10 strikeouts for the Washington Nationals as they defeated the Los Angeles Dodgers 4-2 and event the series at 1-1. Strasburg is the winner at 1-0.

High School Football East County, CA games for Friday, October 4th, 2019 Monte Vista 34 Chula Vista 17 Monte Vista performers QB Rubin Silva 40 yard touchdown run along with a 40 yard pass to Dajon Singleton, Isiah Gardner 4 touchdowns rushed for 177 yards.

Steele Canyon 28 Granite Hills 13 Steele Canyon performers Chris Carter 70 yard touchdown, Wesley Neely contributed for a touchdown for Steele Canyon, Jeremy Mendez Gal 175 yards passing. Cam Ewert 3 receptions for 35 yards

Santana 56 Mount Miguel 14 Santa performers Nathan Temple 7 total touchdowns 4 by rushing and 3 by receptions, 14 completions out of 22 attempts for 310 yards threw 3 td passes of 25 yards to Randy Smith, 22 yards to Jared Forster, 6. 7, 17 and 1 yard touchdowns.

Grossmont 49 Valhalla 14 Grossmont performers Jamie Odom 4 touchdowns passes with 330 yards and 3 touchdowns run for 48 yards rushing.

Junior College Football for Saturday, October 5th 2019: The Griffins of Grossmont have lost 6 games in a row as they were defeated by the Comets of Palomar College by a 36-14 score. The Griffins scored their touchdowns in the 4th quarter as Lukas Arthur 3-4 for 29 yards threw a 7 yard pass to Dominic Hudson at 10:00. The other touchdown was scored as Tanaz Davis threw a 63 yarder to Amari Colbert with both PAT's good. The Griffins will have a bye week and will host Riverside Community College on Saturday, October 19, 2019 at 3 PM.

10-5-19 College Football-Former Grossmont Foothillers product Alex Lilliard registered 9 tackles for Dixie State in their 52-22 win over Black Hills State. Another East County alum in Helix product William Payne registered 2 tackles for Dixie State.

Helix product Scott Young recorded 7 tackles for the Wildcats of Arizona as they defeated the Buffalos of Colorado 35-30.

Helix product Mekhi Stevenson 3 receptions for 12 yards along with a 11 yard touchdown for the Rebels of Nevada Las Vegas as they were defeated by Boise State 38-13.

Monte Vista product Noah Sol registered 5 carries for 54 yards for Northern Colorado as they were defeated by Northern Arizona 48-21. Helix product Nate Stinson carried the ball for 17 yards for Northern Arizona.

El Capitan product Isaiah Capocia registered 1 tackle for Sacramento State as they defeated Eastern Washington 48-26.

NFL for Sunday, October 6, 2019 Helix alum Jamar Taylor recorded 1 tackle for the Seattle Seahawks as they defeated the Los Angeles Rams 30-29.
