City of Oceanside Climate Action Plan Community Workshop - Mar 4

The public is invited to a second community workshop on the Energy and Climate Action Element (ECAP) and Climate Action Plan (CAP).

Oceanside, CA - The City of Oceanside invites the public to a second community workshop on the ECAP and CAP on Monday, March 4, at 5:30 pm in the City Council Chambers at City Hall (300 North Coast Hwy). This workshop will focus on the goals and policies of the ECAP and the GHG emissions reduction measures of the CAP, which together envision an increasingly sustainable community.

In accordance with the California Environmental Quality Act (CEQA), the Draft Program Environmental Impact Report (DEIR) for the Economic Development Element (EDE), Energy and Climate Action Element (ECAP), and Climate Action Plan (CAP) has been posted for 45-day public review. Appended to the DEIR is the full text of the EDE, ECAP, and CAP. These materials can be accessed here. The public review period will extend to March 18.

The goals and policies of the EDE are organized around the themes of Quality of Life, Prosperity, Resilience, and Collaboration. The framework continues to emphasize the extent to which livability, quality employment, sustainable practices, and regional partnerships are fundamental to the City’s long-term economic development. If you are unable to attend the community workshop, you can provide comment to Principal Planner Russ Cunningham at rcunningham@ci.oceanside.ca.us.
