'The Comeback' 2021 Oceanside Tourism Summit Kicks Off Summer

OCEANSIDE, CA — The official summer kick-off for the City Of Oceanside is the annual Oceanside Tourism Summit. This year it was greeted with excitement by City representatives, Business leaders and local Osider's ready to put the past 15 months behind.

Hailed as The Comeback! A celebration of resilience, ingenuity, and the O’side Spirit. The event was held in the Oceanside Civic Center and despite some overcast skies, the crowd was beaming with delight at the opportunity to gather together as a community and welcome a return to fun.

2021 Oceanside Tourism Summit Highlights Included:

• Special guest, Shane Hall, singing Oceanside’s anthem, “The O"
• Highlights from an unprecedented year
• Awards and Recognitions
• Symbolic Ribbon Cutting Ceremony with the Mayor and City Council members

One of the crowd favorites at the Oceanside Tourism Summit was a poem by Mike Sonksen, Ode to Oceanside: A Celebration of the Destination. Mike wrote the poem at the request of Visit Oceanside to commemorate this year's summit theme 'The Comeback'.

KOCT - The Oceanside Channel was on hand to capture the spirit of the celebration for all of Oceanside to enjoy.

The annual Oceanside Tourism Summit is produced in collaboration with Visit Oceanside and the City of Oceanside Economic Development Department.
