Company of Veterans Recycles Oceanside Electronics

Electreco collects used devices such as computers and TVs and sells them off by the pound.

Electreco has been around for about a year, collecting electronics that people don't want anymore and selling the gathered items by the pound to recycling facilities.

The company's three owners were in the parking lot behind Henry's Farmers Market on Saturday morning, loading boxes and pallets of discarded electronics into two moving vans.

Electreco gathers up to 15,000 pounds of recyclable devises on a good Saturday, said co-owner and military veteran Richard Brady. Recycling centers typically pay between 15 cents and 21 cents for Cathode Ray Tube items such as old televisions.
