Crash Forces Closure of 76 Freeway in Oceanside
Authorities said a portion of Highway 76 in Oceanside was closed today following a five-vehicle crash in which nine people were involved.

A portion of Highway 76 in Oceanside was closed today following a five-vehicle crash in which nine people were involved but no one was hurt, authorities said.
The crash on westbound Highway 76 between Benet and Airport roads was reported at 5:55 a.m., according to Oceanside fire Battalion Chief Pete Lawrence.
The California Highway Patrol issued a SigAlert, saying all westbound lanes of the highway between Benet and Airport roads were likely to remain closed until around 7:30 a.m.

Paramedics checked out all nine people involved in the accident and released them from the scene, Lawrence said.
The cause of the crash was under investigation.
