Discovery Isle Preschool Donates to Charity Water

Students at Discovery Isle Preschool in Oceanside recently donated more than $350 to Charity Water, a nonprofit organization dedicated to providing safe drinking water for people in developing countries. For two weeks, students held a penny war between their classes to collect loose change to benefit the organization, while learning about the importance of clean running water. The total amount raised during the fundraiser will help provide drinking water to 12 people for a lifetime. At the close of the penny war, students sent the donation to the organization along with a signed card and photograph from their penny war. Through this initiative, students learned the importance of giving back to others in need.
