Earthgrown Market Closes, Will Reopen at Different Oceanside Location

A message was posted on the store's Facebook page last week that read: "Hopefully nobody is out of work long and everyone makes it back to the new store when that is finalized."

Oceanside residents will have to put the buying of local produce on hiatus, at least temporarily, after Earthgrown Market closed its doors on Sunday, June 16.

According to U-T San Diego, Earthgrown, which had operated at 1820 Oceanside Boulevard for the last 2 1/2 years, will look to open at a new location soon.

A message was posted on the store's Facebook page last week that read: “Hopefully nobody is out of work long and everyone makes it back to the new store when that is finalized.”

Earthgrown specializes in health food items, vitamins, supplements, wines, fresh flowers, and all-natural, locally-farmed produce.

An employee of the store told the newspaper that the goal is to find a location much smaller than the 32,000 square-foot facility that housed the store in the old Boney Marketplace.

The store's lease at its old location ran out before a lease could be finalized for a smaller location.

According the U-T San Diego, the goal is to find a space that is about 14,000 square feet, which will be far less expensive, and easier to operate. The store will announce its new location on its website soon, at http://www.earthgrownmarket.com/
