F-18 Fixed Wing Jets Drop Explosive Munitions on Camp Pendleton
The jets from Miramar will conduct munitions drops on remote areas of Camp Pendleton Wendnesday and Thursday as part of a training exercise.

If you live on or near Camp Pendleton, you may hear the sound of explosions on Wednesday and Thursday between 6 a.m. and midnight, Camp Pendleton spokesperson 2nd Lt. Ryan Welsh told Patch Friday.
High-explosive munitions will be dropped from F-18 fixed wing aircraft from Miramar air station on remote areas of Camp Pendleton as part of a training exercise, Miramar spokesperson Cpl. Justis Beauregard told Patch. The drops could cause blasts that will resonate up to 50 miles away. Base residents with questions can contact base operations and training officials at 760-725-0357.
