Final Maps Released for Political Districts Covering Camp Pendleton, Oceanside

Little impact is expected locally with the latest release of political district maps.

The California Citizens Redistricting Commission on Friday released its final redistricting maps for congressional and state legislative districts that redraw the state's political borders based on shifting populations.

The commission will hold a two-week public review period so citizens can see the district boundaries before the panel either approves or rejects the maps on Aug. 15. No other modifications will be made to the maps, a commission spokesman said.

With the Aug. 15 vote, the lengthy process of adjusting political lines to account for changes in the population will draw to a close. The maps would set the district boundaries for the next 10 years.
