Former City Employee Pleads Guilty to Grand Theft

Maria Santiago Guendulain is accused of stealing more than $32,000.

Maria Santiago Guendulain was sentenced Tuesday to five years probation and public service after she pleaded guilty to grand theft, according to a U-T San Diego report.

Guendulain, who worked for the city of Oceanside, was "accused of siphoning money from the Crown Heights Resource Center" totaling more than $32,000, according to the newspaper.

She worked at the center from 2006 until August 2012.
